I.  Introuction of Guangxi Medical University

Guangxi Medical University (GXMU), founded on November 21, 1934, is one of the 22 earliest founded medical colleges in China. It is one of the earliest medical universities in China to enroll international students. It is also one of the first 30 medical universities in China that are qualified to enroll MBBS students approved by Ministry of Education.

Adhering to the school motto of "Sound in Morality to Encourage Inspiration, Broad in Learning to Promote Medical Science", Guangxi Medical University has been dedicated to its mission for nearly a century. It has not only become the core hub of medical education, research, clinical care and preventive health in Guangxi, but also gained global recognition for its outstanding achievements. It has trained over 200,000 high-quality medical professionals for China and the world, with its alumni spread across the global healthcare field, establishing a wide international influence.

II.  2026 BACHELORS’ PROGRAMS CATALOG (for International Students)

* All undergraduate programs except the six-year MBBS program are taught in Chinese.

III.  GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Age requirements: 16 to 30 years old. If the applicant is under 18 years old (born after October 30, 2007) at the time of application, they must provide information of their legal guardian and a guardianship authorization signed by all three parties.

2. Nationality requirements: Non-Chinese citizens holding foreign passports. The nationality requirement must comply with the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China and relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education of China.

3. Basical requirements: good health, friendly towards China, and non-criminal record.

IV.  APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Application Process:

(1) Applicants must upload required documents online and pay the application fee;

(2) The admissions committee will review all submissions. Shortlisted applicants will proceed to an interview; others will be rejected, and fees are non-refundable.

(3) Qualified applicants will attend an online or phone interview. Those who pass will receive a provisional admission notice.

(4) Applicants must pay the deposit within the deadline specified in the provisional notice. Failure to pay will result in withdrawal of admission.

(5) Final admission documents—including the official admission letter, JW202 form, and orientation guide—will be issued to students who complete all steps and pay the deposit.

(6) Admitted students must apply for their visa independently and report to campus by the designated date.

* IMPORTANT NOTES:

(1) The school will carefully review each applicant's academic performance, language proficiency, and CSCA scores to identify outstanding candidates for a pre-admission offer.

(2) Deposits are non-refundable if a student withdraws for personal reasons or fails to meet registration requirements, resulting in disqualification from enrollment.

(3) Upon successful registration, the deposit will be applied toward the first year’s tuition. All outstanding fees must be settled before registration.

(4) The school reserves the right to adjust procedures in response to new policies issued by higher authorities.

V.  APPLICATION MATERIALS

* PLEASE NOTE: All the following materials must be uploaded by the applicant through the online platform of Guangxi Medical University International Students (https://gxmu.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx). There is no need to mail any paper materials.

1. High school graduation certificate. A genuine and valid high school graduation certificate or an equivalent academic certificate recognized by our university (such as A-Level and GED certificates). If the certificate is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized to be valid.

2. Academic transcript. All academic transcripts of the secondary education stage (grades 7-12), or academic transcripts of the equivalent educational qualifications. If the text is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized to be valid.

3. China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) result. Starting from 2026, all international students applying for undergraduate programs at Guangxi Medical University must submit the relevant subject scores of this test when applying. The arrangements, syllabus, and registration of the CSCA test, please visit the CSCA website for details. (www.csca.cn)

(1) The compulsory subjects for GXMU are mathematics and chemistry.

(2) Applicants for the undergraduate clinical medicine program (taught in English) (MBBS) must choose the English test paper and do not need to provide Chinese subject scores;

(3)applicants for other programs must choose the Chinese test paper and must provide STEM Chinese;

(4) Deadline for submitting examination results:

Scholarship recipients: Must submit by 15 days before the application deadline for each scholarship program;

Self-funded students: Must submit by July 30.

4. Language scores:

(1) Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must provide a valid HSK 4 certificate (total score > 200, item score > 60) within 2 years;

(2) Applicants for the clinical medicine program (taught in English) must provide an IELTS (total score > 5.5, item score > 5), or a TOEFL iBT (total score ≥ 70), or a TOEFL iTP (total score ≥ 450), or a Duolingo score > 90) transcript; or other English scores recognized by our university.

5. Study plan. A study plan of more than 500 words, focusing on the study plan of the applied major. Applicants must write in the language of the applied major.

6. 3-minute video. Record in the language of the applied major. Specific requirements can be found on the relevant page of the materials on the online platform of Guangxi Medical University International Students (https://gxmu.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx).

7. Other materials (if any). Other materials that can prove personal comprehensive qualities, such as published works, participated competitions, etc.

VII.  FIANACIAL AID

1. Chinese Government Scholarship(CSC Scholarship)

(1) TYPE A: Bilateral Program

NATIONALITY: ALL countries.

APPLICATION PERIOD: From November of each year to February of the following year

REQUIRMENTS:    

①Only Chinese-taught programs are accepted;   

②Applicants without a Chinese language foundation will be assigned to a designated preparatory college for pre-medical studies after formal admission. They must pass the CSCA exam (Chinese version) and HSK Level 4 to enter the undergraduate program.

* If at the end of the preparatory study, the student has met the Chinese language requirements but has not met the score requirements for the relevant subjects of the CSCA exam (Maths and Chemistry), the student will be required to change the admitted major according to the requirements of CSC, or be denied admission.

APPLICATION CHANNEL: Follow the announcements of the Chinese embassy in your country.

(2) TYEP B: MOE-GUANGXI PROGRAM

NATIONALITY: ASEAN countries (11 ones) only.

APPLICATION PERIOD: From December of each year to March of the following year

REQUIRMENTS:    

①Only Chinese-taught programs are accepted;   

②Submit a CSCA transcript and HSK Level 4 certificate (total score≥220, each section＞70) or higher upon application.

③CSCA reults: Maths, Chemistry, STEM Chinese

2. GUANGXI GOVERNMENT FULL SCHOLARSHIP FOR ASEAN STUDENTS

NATIONALITY : ASEAN countries (11 ones) only.

APPLICATION PERIOD: From March to May every year

REQUIRMENTS:     

①Only Chinese-taught programs are accepted;

②Applicants who submit a CSCA transcript and HSK Level 4 score(total score≥220, each section＞70) or higher upon application may directly enter the undergraduate program. Those without these scores must complete one year of preparatory study at Guangxi Medical University and pass both the CSCA exam (Chinese version) and HSK Level 4 to proceed.

3. GXMU PRESIDENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR FRESHMEN

NATIONALITY : ALL countries

APPLICATION PERIOD: After enrolling every year

REQUIRMENTS:

All self-funded undergraduate students who have been officially admitted and completed the registration procedures and paid all fees after enrollment will be automatically included in the application program and ranked according to their overall admission scores.
