2024 Guangxi Government Scholarship（ CSC Scholarship）for ASEAN students

Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must

1. ASEAN countries’ citizens with good health;

2. Education and age requirements:

（1）Applicants for bachelor's degree must have a high school grauduate certificate and between the ages of 18 and 25 (June 30, 1999 - June 30, 2006 ); 

（2）Applicants for master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be no older than 35 years old; (date of birth later than June 30, 1989)

（3）Applicants for doctoral degree must have a master's degree and be no older than 40 years old. (date of birth later than June 30, 1984)

（4）If you are a graduate in July 2024, you need to issue a pre graduation certificate or a certificate of being in school.

3. Not receiving other types of Chinese government scholarships at the same time.

Scholarship Content

1. The scholarship covers tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and textbooks.

2. Living stipend: 1,000 CNY/month for bachelor students, 1,500 CNY/month for master students and 2,000 CNY/month for doctoral students 

* Students shall be responsible for their expenses of transportation.

Application Process

1. Applicants do not need to send hard copies to the university by post, but have to summit all documents online to Guangxi Medical University. There are 2 way:

(1) Landing http://210.36.48.220/Account/Login, click "Apply Online" in the international student information system of GXMU to create your new account, fill in the application information online, upload all application materials with the "Guangxi Government full scholarship application form for ASEAN students" which has been signed.

(2) If you cannot log in to the GXMU system, you can summit all materials to the admission@gxmu.edu.cn  OR  gmufso@aliyun.com.

(3) Format of the email title should be" 2024 ASEAN + applicant’s full name + major".

3. Deadline: May 15, 2024. Please submit your application before the date, or it will not be accepted after the deadline.

4. After receiving all the application materials, Guangxi Medical University will conduct a preliminary review of the materials and conduct a telephone or online interview for the applicants. Please ensure that the contact information on the application form is unblocked and the email is correct.

5. Applicants who pass the admission examination will be selected as the candidates of “Guangxi Government Scholarship for ASEAN students ” and nominated to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Education for final evaluation.

 6. Please check the scholarship evaluation final results through the website of the School of international education of Guangxi Medical University and your personal email. The scholarship review takes a long time, please wait patiently.

Application Documents

3. PASSORT ID photo：over 500kb, jpg format。

4. Final academic certificate and transcript：

（1）Notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school.

（2）Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

*  Students must submit the original pre graduation certificate issued by their school. If you are admitted, you must submit your graduation certificate and degree certificate before entering school in September 2024. If you cannot provide it, you will be disqualified.

5. Academic transcripts :

（1） Applicants for bachelor should provide: one scan of the original transcript of the high school course, a notarized high school graduate certificate, other than Chinese and English text must be attached to the notarized Chinese or English translation.

（2）Applicants for master's degree should provide: 1 original copy of undergraduate course transcript, notarized undergraduate degree certificate, and notarized Chinese or English translation must be attached to the text other than Chinese and English.

（3）Candidates for doctoral degree should provide: 1 original copy of undergraduate and master's program transcript, notarized master's degree certificate, and notarized Chinese or English translation must be attached to the text other than Chinese and English.

6. HSK certificates: 

HSK level certificate is not necessary for the application of this scholarship program, but it is a necessary condition for the study of relevant majors.

Undergraduate applicants need to provide a HSK4 (210 points or above) certificate, and master's and doctoral candidates need to provide a HSK5 (210 points or above) certificate.

(1) Applicants who have obtained the scholarship eligibility can directly enter the professional study in Sep, 2024 if they can provide the corresponding level of HSK certificate within the validity period of 2 years when applying.

(2) If the HSK certificate is not provided at the time of application, after obtaining the scholarship, they need to complete one year of Chinese language study in Guangxi Medical University (from September 2024 to July 2025), and who can enter the professional study in September 2025 after reaching the corresponding HSK level.

(3) Students admitted by the scholarship will enjoy the corresponding scholarship assistance during the Chinese language study.

7. Study plan. Written in Chinese or English, including resume, learning experience, previous research results, research/study plan during program, employment goals after graduation, etc.   

Bachelor applicants are required to have more than 200 words; Master applicants are required to have more than 800 words and doctoral applicants are required to have more than 1500 words. 

The study plan of doctoral applicants needs to be signed and confirmed by the Chinese supervisor in GXMU.

8. 2 recommendation letters. (Postgraduate applicant must needed )

From 2 experts with associate professor titles or above related to the major you are applying for. Written in Chinese or English (no fixed format, please sign in person and attach valid contact information); The content should focus on the requirements of the applicant's learning objectives in China.

9. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

10. Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

Other Precautions

1. Scholarship recipients shall go through the formalities of registration and registration within the time prescribed by the university. For those who fail to register within the due time, the scholarship qualification will not be retained and the admission qualification will be cancelled.

2. Must participate in the annual evaluation of scholarships according to regulations. Those who fail to pass the annual review will be suspended or disqualified from the scholarship.

3. Scholarship winners are not allowed to change their admission institutions after coming to China; In principle, the major and duration of study shall not be changed.
